Why make this so complicated?

Ok, I find it sad how people get talked into the latest and greatest fad diets.. when did weight-loss become so complicated? It really isn’t!
Exercise, eat healthy, read labels, educate yourself on what is healthy and what isn’t..
People would rather spend their money on some “Miracle” cure to weight-loss than do these simple things. It’s so bizarre! If you put in the work, you’ll get the results! You get someone else to do it for you, you’ll get an empty wallet, weight that might come off but will likely come back and then that same feeling of failure you tend to get with each fad diet you try. It’s a horrible cycle and if you’re on this roller coaster of fad diets, please get off it now…
If there’s a diet that’s out there that works well, that is healthy and safe… please let me know about it! It would be good to know but seriously, I wouldn’t waste my money because I’ve already learned on my own the basics of eating healthy and exercising. Why would I pay for pills or food someone else makes, I don’t know what they’re putting in it. When I make my food, I know! Do your research! This day and age we have a thing called the internet… read all the wealth of information on it and you will learn a lot, without having to pay for it!
Seriously, stop looking for the easy way out. It’s not easy, I know! A little effort at a time on your part is all it takes!
I admit some good can come out of some diet programs, if they are teaching you portion sizes and exercise, they teach you about food and show you how to cook or what you should be eating… but most don’t do this and a lot are asking you to take things away that your body needs like carbs and fats. You shouldn’t have to deprive yourself of foods that are good for you. You just need to learn the correct amount of these foods you should be eating in a day and don’t over do it. It’s all about moderation!
Ok I’m done venting.. for now :)

    I am doing a project on the GI Diet, you may want to check that out too, it’s the GI Diet by Rick Gallop, I have been following it for years and losing weight, my parents follow it also, I agree with you but sometimes people need someone to help educate them such as myself or a dietitian, also programs like weight watchers are very helpful, which I have also tried.

      As I point out, the key is to learn.. I’m all for people talking to specialists and I would pay in a second to talk to a nutritionist or dietitian.. as you can see by my blog I find that kind of advice VERY helpful.. What I don’t like are the people who claim they have professional training, like some diets that claim they are run by trained professionals and when you look into it they really have no health background what so ever! THAT irritates me! If you are going to pay for the information, make sure you get value for your money, fad diets.. no value… I don’t know the GI diet but I don’t really consider it a diet because you don’t have to STOP eating foods per say you are watching what you eat and trying to eat foods that are lower on the Gylcemic index, which is very helpful when you are trying to lose weight… Weight watchers, GI diet I don’t consider FAD diets. FAD diets are diets that come and go..(go because they don’t work) like the grapefruit diet or the pill diet.. it changes from week to week. Not sure what the new fad diet is.. if anyone knows, please post!
